Designed specifically for overcoming the problem of reliably draining rainwater from transformer bunds, without letting any oil escape.

The filtration system will reduce oil content of rainwater flowing out typically to below 1 ppm, but under all circumstances to less than 5 ppm.

Filters will remove any traces of oil whilst allowing water to pass freely. In the event of a serious oil leakage the cartridge will form a plug preventing any oil from escaping. The cartridge is then unscrewed and a new one replaces it.

The performance of the filter cartridge has been independently verified by BUREAU VERITAS and is accepted by UK environment agencies as an acceptable solution for draining rainwater from Transformer Bunds.

Rainwater from the system may be discharged directly to a soak-away, Oil contamination is reduced to such low levels that easily meet the requirements of the Water Framework Directive and related regulations.

The performance of the filter system is superior to a Class1 Interceptor (BS EN 858).

Transformer Bund drainage systems that are simple, reliable and fail-safe.

A proven solution with hundreds of units installed in France, Italy and Spain by EDF and others, IAC are now supplying these systems in the UK.

An environmental impact assessment can show that this solution is superior to the alternatives in terms of performance and reliability and is less expensive to install and maintain.

May be fitted to existing concrete bunds or supplied as part of the comprehensive GMT/Akhelec Transformer Oil Containment and Fire Extinguishing Bund System.
